Swedish Techniques

Swedish techniques are used to increase circulation and promote general relaxation.  People who receive regular full-body Swedish massage find that they feel healthier, more energetic, less stressed and are less susceptible to illness.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue massage is to address specific tight muscles and to correct postural distortion caused by these tight muscles. The release of habitually tight muscles relieves chronic pain and speeds the healing of injuries. Balanced posture improves organ function and athletic performance as well as addressing chronic pain.

Myofascial Release, The John F. Barnes Approach

John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach consists of the gentle application of sustained pressure into fascial restrictions within the body. A gentle pressure applied slowly will allow the fascia to elongate. Trauma, inflammatory response and/or surgical procedures create myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures (straightjacket) on pain sensitive structures. Myofascial Release safely and gently releases the entire myofascial complex to help you achieve your goals and enhance your ability to return to a pain free, active lifestyle.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on method of releasing restrictions around the brain and spinal cord, which enables the body to free itself of pain and other health conditions.CranioSacral can be effective for all ages, from newborns to elders. Many people have a belief that healing is painful. CranioSacral Therapy helps them let go of that believe. The healing process can be much more gentle and subtle.

Pre and Post Natal Massage

Pregnancy is a time of great change in a woman’s body. As the function and structure of her body changes it is stressed. Massage reduces stress and promotes sympathetic nervous system sedation; as well as, relieves muscle spasm, cramps and myofascial pain especially in the back and neck.

Post Natal Massage for Vaginal Delivery relieves aches, pain and fatigue resulting from the birthing process and hormonal changes, and supports the body to return to pre-pregnant conditions.

Post Natal Massage for Caesarean Section Delivery reduces the possibility of further adhesions while releasing current adhesions, and holds the tissue in stretch to align the scar tissue.

Cupping

Cupping is a therapy in which glass jars or cups are suctioned onto the skin’s surface through negative pressure. The suction and negative pressure drain excess fluids and toxins which stimulates the peripheral nervous system, brings blood flow to stagnant muscles and skin, loosen adhesions, connective tissue and stubborn knots in tissue. Ancient Chinese medicine believes cupping opens up meridian pathways to allow Qi to flow thru. When Qi flows freely throughout the body one enjoys good physical, mental and emotional well-being. Stagnant cupping is when the cup is placed over specific acupuncture points and left for a few seconds to a few minutes. This stimulates the Qi at the point and can help clear a blockage of energy in the meridian. This is often used to clear colds and flu’s as well as stimulates specific organs and release a specific area in the muscle or connective tissue. Sliding cupping or cupping massage is when oil or lotion is first applied to the area being treated and the cup is moved around. This form of cupping releases the connective tissue and muscles on the area being treated, increases overall circulation and releases toxins. It is a great alternative to acupuncture for those who have an aversion to needles, and is ideal for those who are not getting relief they need from regular massage therapy treatments.
